In the Embrace of White

Conceptualised as a modern utopia dipped in a calmingly compelling blanket of minimalism is the Janata Sahakari Bank at Ichalkaranji designed by Ar. Mohit Chaugule of Studio888. Adhering to the serene and calm elements of the colour white, the project envisages this public building as a symbol of new beginnings. “It all started with Mr. Kallappana Awade (owner) having a project of building a Bank at one of the prime locations in ICHALKARANJI”, says the architect. The magnanimity of the design is experienced as one ushers into the double height entrance foyer. At the far end stands the reception area with a wooden finish backdrop creating a contrast in the otherwise minimalistic space. The wisdom employed in the material pallets accentuates the sublime effect inside while creating bold architectural volumes. The probable orthogonal monotony is consciously broken with the use of organic shapes and furniture in the foyer and conference room while the ambient lighting seamlessly aligns the varied design elements.
